Using data in the USA
Coverage in metro areas is excellent. 5G is everywhere from Manhattan to downtown LA, Chicago to Austin to Seattle. Drive an hour out and you’ll drop to 4G LTE, which is still perfectly fine for maps, music and video calls. Truly rural America — deserts, national parks, the middle of Wyoming — can have patchy signal regardless of carrier.
Nothing is geo-blocked. All your usual apps, banking, iMessage and 2FA texts work normally. Tethering is allowed if you need to hotspot the laptop in a hotel lobby.
One thing worth knowing: many US carriers still throttle eSIM tethering speeds after a certain threshold. SimKit doesn’t do that — your data is your data, however you use it.
Questions, answered.
Does it work in Hawaii and Alaska?
Yes. The USA plan covers all 50 states, plus Puerto Rico. Same plan, same price.
5G or 4G?
Both — your phone picks whichever is faster at any given moment. Expect 5G in most cities, 4G LTE elsewhere.
Can I use it for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash etc.?
Yes. Anything that needs data works normally — ride-share apps, food delivery, banking. Your home number stays active for SMS verification.
Can I tether?
Yes — unlimited tethering on every USA plan. Useful for hotel rooms with bad Wi-Fi.
Does it cover Canada or Mexico?
No. The USA plan is US-only. If you’re crossing borders, our regional North America or Global plans cover all three countries on one eSIM.
